Members of the Sierra Rutile Limited Board of Directors and executive management paid an official visit to the Sembehun (Area 5) project site in the Bagruwa Chiefdom, Moyamba District , a key step in the company’s ongoing expansion and growth.

The delegation included Board Chairman, Kobi Walker; Non-Executive Director, Sidi Bakarr; Directors, Ishmael Momoh and Orlon Baker; and Chief Executive Officer, Lima Sufian-Kargbo, supported by members of the Executive Management Team ; Chief Operating Officer, Kenelm Walter Hughes, and Chief Financial Officer, Prince Swaray, alongside other SRL staff.

The team received a warm traditional welcome from the people of Bagruwa Chiefdom, led by Paramount Chief Robert C.S. Papapwe III. Remarks were also delivered by Chief Lamin T. Kamara, Speaker of Bagruwa Chiefdom; Madam Lucinda Y. Sankoh, Section Chief of Sembehun; Chief Abdulraham Tawah, Section Chief of Benduma; Chief Momodu, Town Chief of Sembehun Town; Chief Bockarie Yambawo, Town Chief of Kamatipa; and Chief Kakpaindi, Town Chief of Nyandehun.

Community leaders emphasised the importance of continued dialogue, transparency, and collaboration as SRL moves closer to developing the Sembehun deposit. They expressed optimism that the project will bring economic opportunities, improved infrastructure, and lasting benefits to their chiefdoms.

The visit also included a tour of the proposed Kamatipa plant site location, where the delegation reviewed the Sembehun deposit zones, haul-road and powerline corridors, and resettlement planning for nearby villages. The discussions focused on preparation for site clearing and mobilization, scheduled to begin in November 2025, marking an important milestone in SRL’s growth journey.

This strategic strength will be directly matched by benefits to our host communities, creating new job opportunities, stimulating business growth, and funding essential community development initiatives through the Community Development Committee (CDC).
